Instana is looking for Senior Software Engineers to work from one of our office locations in Solingen, Munich or Novi Sad, or remote from one of the following locations: Germany, The Netherlands, Serbia, UK and Ireland.

At Instana, we process and analyze millions of messages per second in order to provide actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly expanding customer base. This constant stream of telemetry creates a number of challenges that must be met with operational agility, as well as strong architecture, design and development.

As a member of the team focused on log management in Instana you will work with reactive Java stream processing (Kafka and Project Reactor) and distributed data stores (ClickHouse, Elasticsearch). Moreover, you will come across a wide range of technologies, like infrastructure and Cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud, and others), tracing and instrumentation, data science, as well as our rich Web UI (React).

You should be open to learning new technologies and willing to get your hands dirty across the entire software stack.

Ideally you have firsthand experience of troubleshooting production issues and log management in general (e.g. Elastic Stack, Splunk, or CloudWatch), because this will help you understand the type of problems Instana are solving for our customers. Last but not least, experience in working in an agile and fast-paced startup environment is an advantage.
