Thales Ground Transportation’s Digital Competency Center (DCC) is part of our Digital Transformation initiative. The DCC consists of dedicated teams engaged in developing Digital Products, Solutions & Services while embracing Digital Culture and modern ways of working. The teams focus on topics related to Big Data & Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (including Autonomy, semi supervised learning), Digital Twins and critical and sophisticated algorithms among others.

Senior Software Architect (m/f/d) full- or part-time (Ref.Nr. R1001121) for our activities in the field of transportation at our location in Berlin
You will enjoy having this responsibility:
The Software Architect in a DCC sets the technology roadmap and shapes the software architecture of the products driven by technological innovations. The key areas of responsibility are as follows.
  • Understand the requirements, needs and challenges of the customer to design technical roadmap and technology solution
  • Support Product Owner with solutions, effort estimates and adhering to timelines of delivery
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional technical solutions
  • Make sure the team follows the right architecture principles according to the guidelines
  • Conduct code reviews, make sure developers adhere to best coding practices and perform refactoring when necessary
  • Ensure non-functional requirements such as Security, Performance and Usability are considered in the architecture and development
  • Own the quality of code delivered from the team
  • Be the single point of contact for the team for any technical questions
  • Make critical decisions related to software operations such as Deployment, CI/CD Pipeline design
YOU HAVE:
  • Deep understanding and demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and standards of Cloud solutions based on Java or similar languages
  • Proven architecture & integration expertise with Cloud Technologies
  • Expert understanding of Unit Testing, Automation Tests and CI/CD
  • Understanding of architecture constructs (Architecture & Design Patterns, Database Systems, Performance Tuning, Web Services, UI Technologies)
  • Knowledge of BigData and Machine Learning development landscape
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills to explain ideas across organization levels
  • Understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies
