To support our Core BI Team we are looking for you in full-time as a:

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER (m/f/d)

Where your expertise is needed

As Core-BI we are at the centre of data at smava. We strive to enable all teams and departments at smava to make data driven decisions. We do this by providing data infrastructure and services that make it easy for teams to serve and digest data. Our long term goal is to establish a data-first culture and create data democracy by providing a decentralised self-service data platform and self-service-BI.

As a new team member you will work with several different technologies such as Aurora, Redshift, Data Vault, Matillion, Java, Python, Terraform and more to deliver data infrastructure and data services. Our data architecture is in constant development moving towards our long term goal. Together with the team you will decide how we will achieve that goal.

What we’re looking for

Required

• An open mind, eager to learn and willing to share knowledge across the team
• 5+ years of experience in the data domain as a data engineer, data warehouse engineer, BI developer, etc.
• Eager to challenge the status quo
• Interested in solving complex problems with smart solutions
• Previously worked - or willing to work - in a flat hierarchy
• Experience with data warehousing

Preferred

• Experience with columnar databases as DWH engine, preferably redshift (or similar)
• Experience with data streaming and/or batch-processing
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools preferably Matillion (or similar)
• Experience/familiarity with BI tools preferably Tableau (or similar)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (or similar)

Nice to have

• Solid knowledge about Kimball, Inmon principles, dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Data Vault
• Experience in a programming language such as Python or Java
• Experience with Docker, ECR, ECS, etc.
