Your role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimising our data infrastructure, pipelines, and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our data ecosystem.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows for efficient data processing
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data engineering solutions
  • Design and implement data models and database schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval
  • Implement data governance and security practices to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Identify and troubleshoot data-related issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to enhance our data infrastructure
Your profile
  • You bring German work experience and you are located in Germany, ideally in Berlin or close area
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science or similar, handling complex data projects and building data pipelines
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL and DBT
  • Understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services, particularly BigQuery, e.g. AWS and Azure
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, data warehousing with proficiency in data modelling, database design, and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools like Jenkins, Apache Airflow or Prefect
  • Familiarity with data architecture concepts, data storage formats like CSV, JSON, Parquet and data lake environments
  • Experience in Data visualisation tools e.g. Tableau, Looker, Marketing tech and analytical solutions is a big plus!
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking & communication skills in English - German is a bonus
