With over 250 million tracks from 30 million creators heard in 190 countries, the future of music is SoundCloud.We’re looking for a Royalty Finance & Ops Specialist to join our Royalty Data - Analytics and Reporting team in Berlin.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for SoundCloud’s financial reporting, assisting in informing the strategic vision of our licensing through economic analysis, marketing data and commercial charting, as well as development across all rightsholder and creator monetization services.
The team is tasked with managing the company’s Content Cost economics, rights administration of deal terms, royalty & marketing reporting, commercial charting and utilizing the team’s various financial & marketing data points to leverage SoundCloud’s strategic initiatives through concise BI analysis & driven decision making. To strengthen the firepower of this highly cross functional team, we are looking for an additional pair of hands, joining us as a Royalty Finance & Data Analyst.
You will:

• Prepare monthly financial inputs for royalty calculations, ensuring resulting calculations, reporting, and relating invoices are accurate, received and matched to all payable statements.
• Create and maintain recoupment schedules for all rightsholder deal terms, as well as research inquiries relating to recorded music and publisher rightsholder financial recoupments.
• Assist finance leads in monthly financial reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing audit schedules, support and responding to inquiries.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Research topics related to our team’s specific datasets.
• Data Surfacing and presentation for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial/calculation data and contribute to the vision and strategy of our highly cross-functional team.
• You will work with internal stakeholders, as well as directly with our content partners, including record labels, music publishers, and collecting societies, to ensure that we are not only mindful of the company’s critical reporting & financial obligations, but also in building a product that benefits both SoundCloud and the creators we directly support financially.

You have:

• At least 4-5 years experience working in an analytical or reporting-related role in the digital space. Previous music industry experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills, and experience working with large data sets
• Superior planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, within tight deadlines
• Exceptional written/verbal communication skills & interpersonal/team skills
• Experience with SQL (BigQuery) and Google Data Studio is a plus
• Analytical thinking with attention to detail, ready to solve complex cross-functional problems.
