At OneFootball we are delivering the product experience for football fans, the platform for our content partners and tools for our internal users. Our main systems consist of a micro service architecture with golang applications running on Kubernetes in AWS, serving iOS, Android and Web clients. You can check our Stackshare page, too.

We are looking for a Principal Engineer as part of the cross-functional Experience Architecture team, focussing on the native mobile application Backend (serving iOS / Android) and our microservice architecture.

Your role

• As part of the Experience Architecture team you are accountable for the server driven UI & Backend for Frontends for all native applications and for implementing related services and capabilities.
• As part of the senior backend engineering group you design, plan and support the evolutionary changes in our service and persistence layers.
• You support the product and engineering management in assessing risks and opportunities and contribute to the strategic planning.
• Help create a great engineering culture: hiring, coaching, improving the way we work.
• Finding the right tooling strategy for the engineering department

Your profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, covering high traffic applications
• Senior level experience in Golang and experience in at least one other, object oriented or functional language
• Deep expertise in; architectural and software design patterns, the complete Software development life cycle including coding, build, test, deploy, monitor, refactor in a cloud native environment persistence: (no-)SQL, search, event queues, caching, ..., test automation on all levels.
• Ideally you have experience with application security, Test Driven Development and (remote) Pair Programming,mobile applications.
• You have already been moving from monolithic applications to microservices and helped establish a devops mindset before.
• You can coach and influence other engineers and stakeholders including senior managers and you can challenge the status quo, actively fostering innovation.
• You maintain an open, respectful and supportive communication, creating a safe and outcome driven environment around you.
