Hiscox Reour combined reinsurance teams in London, Bermuda and Paris, provide market leading expertise and a wide range of reinsurance products to high-quality insurers around the world.
Hiscox Special Risksprovides specialist insurance and expertise for global risks including fine art, kidnap and ransom and terrorism
Hiscox USoperating since 2006 from six locations offering professional liability, specialty and property insurance. Hiscox US also provides small business insurance direct to consumers.
Hiscox UK and Hiscox Europeoffers a range of specialist insurance for professionals and business customers, as well as high net worth individuals and also provides home and small business insurance directly to consumers.
Hiscox Groupis the umbrella function that supports all areas of the organisation, home to our operations, IT, Finance, HR, Marketing, Communications and Modelling teams.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Lead for Germany 5 year planning and Vision 2030 process considering market seizing, technological enablers and organisational development aspects
- Ensure transfer of corresponding growth ambitions into integrated retail traded and retail digital strategy including alignment with digital enabler and profitability initiatives
- Drive design, implementation and monitoring of 2022 Roadmap from strategic conception, operational implementation to controlling
- Permanent member of the German Management Team Meetings
Organisational Development
- Regular review and analysis of internal and external data to identify growth potential and necessary planning adjustments
- Ensure transparency regarding achievement of strategic goals and development of the company including preparation of strategic decisions and recommendations
- Identify strategic partnership and assess relevance for the company
- Management of organisational development team, innovation hub and projects
Management and Group Reporting Germany
- Preparation of quarterly country check-in Germany
- Lead for Operating Plan process
- Coordination of Board Report inputs and ad-hoc requirements
person specification:
Key requirements
Successfully completed business administration or economics degree- At least five years of professional experience in the insurance sector with market responsibility
- Leadership experience in managing teams with market responsibility
- Proactive strategic thinker with foresight, commercial mindset and at ease with analysing data.
- Able to work in a non-structured environment that may involve some flexing of working hours to accommodate business needs
- Credible across the business and able to build strong relationships across all units
- High proficiency or near fluency in English and fluency in German
- Ability to travel
