The Hapag-Lloyd system landscape is in massive shift from on-prem to cloud. This includes collaboration solutions, FICO solutions, and especially our "Freight Information System" as backbone of our shipping business and benchmark of the industry. Become part of this journey and assist in architectural matters of the interplay between the current and target solution setups.

As Senior IT Architect, you act as an all-rounder for support in architectural questions of self-developed and Of-the-Shelf solutions under adherence of ‘well-architectured’ frameworks.
The Senior IT Architect is an all-rounder, who enjoys to work simultaneously in multiple projects and drives the connection and architectural knowledge exchange within the organization.
Your work includes reviews of solutions, but focusses on active project participation for designing solutions and their communication interfaces to other solutions.

For our location in Hamburg we are looking for a

IT Senior Architect (m/f/d)

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Advising our development teams on the architectural design or migration of solutions – with focus on cloud
  • Reviewing and hands-on optimizing architectural solution designs (especially in cloud) with focus on communication/ data exchange
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with teams to clarify and solve cross-domain issues
  • Continuous architectural optimization of existing solutions under use of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Designing and developing functional extensions in platforms and cloud landing zones that support architectural optimization
  • Facilitator of DevOps culture
  • Architecturally supporting and exchanging best-practices across the Hapag-Lloyd AG IT organization

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge and interest in architectural design of software solutions and system landscapes
  • Multi-year experience architecting, building and administrating cloud solutions (preferred in AWS) and in cloud technologies such as serverless computing, container technologies, communication (Kafka, APIs) and IaC
  • Multi-year experience on Dev(Sec)Ops and CI/CD processes implementation
  • Cloud solution architect certification is appreciated
  • Experience in software development, especially with Java/ JEE
  • Completed studies in computer science or comparable
  • Strong communication skills, self-responsibility and team player
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
