Data, Analytics & BI


The Data, Analytics & BI department at Mercedes-Benz Mobility is the central hub for all data related activities such as data-science, data-management, data-governance, data-quality and data-platform. The department provides E2E data solutions along with guidance on data compliance related topics. The department enables numerous cross-organizational projects that focus on digitizing business processes and/or setting up fully data-driven business models. The department plays a crucial role in achieving the broader company strategy and is spearheading the data-driven transformation of Mercedes-Benz Mobility.


The Advanced Analytics & Data-driven Solutions team is part of the Data, Analytics & BI department. The aim of this team is to develop and deploy profit generating data-science use-cases within various business units of our organization . The team consists of data scientists, IT specialists and project managers .


Scope of this internship :


This internship will provide the intern a fantastic opportunity to get first-hand experience of developing and deploying an industry grade data science solution. The intern will have complete freedom to research, explore and implement his/her own novel solution all the while being continuously guided and supported by a senior data scientist from the team. The scope of the internship is vast, and the intern will get exposure to a wide array of activities including data cleaning, data engineering, data modeling and data visualization.


This internship will provide the intern a platform to develop not only his/her technical skills but also his/her communication and stakeholder management skills. The intern will be in close communication with business counterparts to understand their requirements and expectations. The intern should then translate these business requirements into technical implementation. The technical implementation involves developing a machine learning/statistical model that can generate relevant predictions of appropriate quality.


A can-do attitude combined with a learning-by-doing mindset will put the intern on a guaranteed path to success in this internship. To put it succinctly, this internship will be a wholesome, fun filled, learning experience.


Your tasks will be :


    As a data science intern, you will be responsible for solving a business problem-statement using data science methods and machine learning models You will communicate and collaborate with subject matter experts from various business units to understand the problem statement, requirements, and expectations As part of this internship, you will be responsible for deploying an end-to-end machine learning solution, starting from data onboarding to prediction delivery You will collaborate with other data scientists and data engineers in the team to co-create and develop a machine learning solution of the highest quality You will use interactive visualizations to enable business counterparts to understand and use model predictions

Qualifikationen

    Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering or a related field Very good python programming skills Ability to work with code versioning tools such as GitHub Sound theoretical and practical understanding of machine-learning models and frameworks such as scikit-learn, pandas, HyperOpt is a MUST Firm grasp over mathematical and statistical concepts used in data science is a MUST Working knowledge of PySpark would be a definite plus Working knowledge of DataFactory, DataBricks, PowerBI and MLflow would be a huge advantage Very good English language skills
