Arguably building the best payments infrastructure in the world, our client is searching for a (Senior) Software Engineer (Go) to join their outstanding Core Engineering Team in Munich. Due to their unique market positioning in the ever growing payments space, they are set for high growth and innovation in the coming years.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for full software development life-cycle activities using Go for our client’s core platform systems, working on critical infrastructure components. You will work in a modern DevOps environment with CI/CD pipelines and use tools such as Gitlab, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS for both development and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Address complex architectural problems with simple, intuitive design
• Test and improve performance, scalability and reliability of services
• Take ownership of all phases of the software development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and support)
• Apply Clean Code techniques and mentor your teammates through in-depth code reviews
• Collaborate effectively within our cross-functional teams
• Recognise and propose solutions for scaling weaknesses, performance bottlenecks and security risks
• Apply and utilise state-of-the-art CI/CD techniques

Qualifications

• A STEM degree from a top-tier university
• Excellent Go programming skills, C++ a bonus
• Practical understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Experience developing and running services in the cloud
• Familiarity with FreeBSD and IPC frameworks like ZeroC Ice, gRPC are a plus
• Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
• Sense of ownership and proven track record of working on projects end-to-end
