Lab Head Process Technology Pharma R&D (m/f/d)
  • Drive and consult process R&D labs and plant teams in terms of process technologies and unit operations for the entire R&D pipeline of Bayer Pharmaceuticals
  • Actively develop technology portfolio of the process technology group with focus on new modality downstream operations like lyophilization and cross flow filtration (UF/DF)
  • Transfer chemical processes from lab to kg lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing plant for API manufacturing on industrial scale and ensure development of chemical processes from a process engineering perspective
  • Define operating parameters for equipment on pilot and manufacturing scale based on lab experiences for unit operations of chemical processes
  • Optimize global processes of existing API manufacturing processes on industrial scale with focus on COGs reduction
  • Lead and guide a process technology lab and actively shape personnel development of staff
  • Actively network with Process R&D labs, plant teams and departments from Crop Science and Engineering & Technology
  • Master’s degree in engineering or process engineering or process chemistry, PhD preferred
  • Knowledge in AI/API manufacturing in crop science, fine chemicals or pharma incl. basic knowledge in GMP compliance
  • Deep knowledge of process safety and process engineering, scale up and transfers from lab to pilot plant
  • Excellent communication skills with plant and lab staff on different levels of hierarchy
  • Agile and self-motivated personality with high ability to create network and trustful relationship with a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to effectively challenge the status quo, combined with dedication to new technologies and innovation incl. future-oriented trends like digitalization
