Introduction

As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems within the context of modern multi-cloud data & AI architecture. You will define the vision and scope for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of modern data platform approaches in a multi-cloud world. You are a technical leader, envisioning and designing modern data & AI platform architecture and implementing them together with a team of data engineers and AI consultants for our clients.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Architect – Modern Data Platforms & AI you will be part of our European Data & Technology consulting team where you will be responsible for providing technical thought leadership and solution expertise around Data & AI technologies. This includes technology assessment, use case development, as well as solution outline and design for modern data & AI architectures in hybrid- and multi-cloud scenarios. You’ll be knowledgeable of traditional legacy DWH systems and state of the art cloud architectures.

As an Architect for Data Platforms you will design end to end Data to AI Solutions across multiple platforms. You`ll demonstrate hands-on expertise in creating data to AI platforms for clients, creating best of breed end-to-end solutions leveraging Cloud and traditional data platform offerings.

You`ll oversee the architecture for the data and AI components including unstructured data technologies, annotation and related data and analytics, e.g. Big Data, Data Warehouse, Data Integration, Master Data Management and/or Cloud Data transformation projects.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

At least 3 years practical experience

• with Data platforms architecture, data platforms implementation
• in / with Big Data projects using Hadoop, Map Reduce, Spark, Python, SPSS/R or NoSql technologies
• in across systems integration, information management business analytics and architecture
• in design with programming on high-scale or distributed systems (such as Hadoop)
• Programming skills (Java/Python)
  
  

At least 2 years practical experience

• with Cloud or Cloud native platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google,
• in data warehouse environment and knowledge of existing and emerging data integration approaches
• in data architecture of designing and developing logical data models
• in / with high performance distributed parallel file system storage technology such as GPFS, GFS, CloudStore, HDFS or similar
