The Industrial System Innovation team focuses on innovation projects with national and international partners from industry and academia. The team deals with diverse state of the art topics like Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, RISC-V, Secure communication (wired/wireless) networks etc for industrial automation use cases.

Tasks:

The results of our projects are showcased as system demonstrators that combine the latest security and communication technology. A demonstrator typically consists of NXP embedded microcontroller/microprocessor or FPGA solutions that are combined with NXPs Security ICs and wired/wireless communication links and a PC/Smartphone based GUI application that delivers the demonstrator’s message. Students will be involved in all parts of the development:

  • Definition of the demonstrator concept & system architecture

  • Programming of the GUI

  • HW & SW implementation of demo components (embedded programming)

  • Integration of developed security concepts/hardware into the system solution

Requirements:

  • Student of a Master course in Engineering/Information Technology or Bachelor students in 5th/6th semester with enough expertise

  • Good Knowledge on programming languages e.g. C/C++, Java

  • Practical experience of embedded software development (HW debugging & measurements)

  • Good knowledge in Windows and PC tools

  • Knowledge on Linux, GUI programming on PC/Android, Security & Cryptography are a plus

  • Creative and innovative mindset, good team player, pro-active and able to work independently

  • Extension of contract or conversion into thesis/internship topics later is possible
