Aufgaben
I like to invite you to shape with us the future of mobility around self-driving cars. Our department in Böblingen-Hulb designs and develops new approaches for the field of autonomous driving to increase driving comfort and safety. In this Master Thesis, you have the opportunity to gain insights into the future technology of autonomous driving. Looking further into the future, studies on cooperative maneuver tuning concepts are required.
For this purpose, we shared a cooperative common environment model with all participating road agents. This means that all cooperative vehicles communicate their objects detected with their on-board sensors to other road users via V2X communication. With this information, we developed a common environment. This provides us the possibility, to enlarge the vehicle’s sensor range, virtually.
For a feasibility study at the application level, it is important to examine the V2X network environment. For this purpose, we have coupled our vehicle simulation environment with the OMNeT++ network simulation tool. Application special data packets are send from the vehicle simulation and processed further in the network simulation. By this way, we are able to simulate real network effects such as packet losses, or delay times.
Your task is to define the interface of the simulation environment according to the state of the art in transmission technology and to analyze the network behavior in specific scenarios.
Goal:
- Create a realistic network architecture
- Implementation of CAM, CPM and DENM
- Analytical calculation of possible data packet size
- Implementation of different maneuvers coordination procedures
- Evaluation and analysis of several scenarios
- Consideration of network properties and improvement of network utilization
Are you ready for #nextbigthing?
The final thesis selection is made in close consultation with you, the university and us.
