Gorillas is shaping the future of on-demand retail from the ground up. In less than one year we have evolved from a single warehouse in Berlin to a growing global crew operating our hyperlocal model in 9 countries (with more on the way). Our rider crew makes magic happen on the daily, delivering groceries to your door in just 10 minutes.

Our DNA is rooted in a love for cycling and a desire to create change, and we’re proud to foster an environment where authenticity is celebrated and boldness is encouraged. True to our need for speed, in March 2021 we became Germany’s fastest-ever unicorn company with a $1bn valuation and €305m total funding raised. As one of Europe’s most talked about startups, we are bringing true digital disruption to the supermarket space and seeking talented individuals to join us in building something extraordinary.

About the opportunity

We are currently looking for an innovative and inspiring Team Lead to manager our Office Managers in Berlin, who is keen to make an impact through developing and implementing policies as well as managing vendors, but who also has a hands-on approach when operational tasks need to be taken care of. You will be part of a motivated team that plays a key role in the smooth running of Gorillas’ Berlin offices and enables seamless day-to-day operations.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and lead a team of Office Managers
  • Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day office operations including working with vendors, service providers and office lease
  • Manage budgets, contract and price negotiations
  • Manage health and safety regulations for our offices (involve in e.g. covid-19 policies)
  • Organise a mayor part of the onboarding for new hires (we grow with a substantial number of employees every month)
  • Be the subject matter expert and key point of contact on all office operations, policies and procedures

What we expect from you:

  • At least 5 years experience working in an Office Manager role or similar
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, such as a scale-up company. Ideally having worked in a larger organisation (200+ employees in the office)
  • Fluency in both German and English
  • Experience working on health & safety topics
  • Outstanding organisational and planning skills with the ability to work on multiple projects/ work streams at any given time
  • Good working knowledge of office systems, policies and procedures
  • Excellent customer service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills throughout all job duties and responsibilities
  • Assertive personality - able to influence all employees to follow rules and regulations

What’s in it for you:

  • Accelerate your career development by joining one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups
  • Flexible working arrangements, plus offices located in the center of Berlin
  • A 25% discount on all your Gorillas deliveries ❤️
  • Free snacks and drinks in the office, and the opportunity to sample new products before anyone else
  • Your choice of a Mac or Windows laptop, plus a tech accessory budget to maximize your work environment

We’re building a people-first business, which means we aspire to create flexible benefits and working arrangements that meet our people where they’re at. As a young company in the midst of growth, you’ll experience a steep learning curve from day one and the opportunity to shape the future of Gorillas. You’ll benefit from working with a diverse mix of talented humans, many of whom bring experience from some of the world’s biggest tech companies. With unrivalled energy and team spirit, a culture of inclusion, and no shortage of snacks, we’re building a place for you to do your best work.
