We are looking for a
Strategic Purchaser (m/f/d)
in Ship Electrification Solutions to support the business growth and effectively contribute to delivering the most innovative and reliable solutions within a defined category.
The preferred locations for the position are Germany (Hamburg) or Norway (Stord).
What you will be doing
As Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Build up relationships and develop a trustable supplier network.
- Conduct sourcing, benchmarking and negotiations in close cooperation with the Line Manager.
- Establish new Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements and maintain existing Agreements up to date, including but not limited to framework contracts and price lists.
- Implement project-specific purchasing conditions, following the commercial terms agreed with customer and the assessment by Legal and Line Manager.
- Ensure a smooth hand over to Project Purchasers for effective operational activities.
- Process Request for Quotations, Purchase requisitions and Orders when time is of the essence to accomplish the targets.
- Monitor supplier’s performance to ensure goods and services are delivered in a quality and timely manner by working closely with Project Managers, Project Purchasers, Category Managers and Quality.
- Ensure compliance to processes, strategies, and agreements in place.
- Address non-conformities when needed.
- Identify risks in Supply Chain and conduct mitigation plans. This may require regular assessments on project components delivery status, production schedules and capacity, as well as conduct inspections at supplier premises.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Solid understanding of sourcing and supply management. At least three years of experience in sourcing.
- Negotiation skills coupled with a strong focus on problem solving
- Solution oriented approach, capability to implement and persistency to follow-up activities to ensure sustainability
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Fluent command in English, both oral and written, other languages could be seeing as advantage
- Good networking capacity, willingness to travel (up to 15% of working time)
- SAPERP and legal knowledge are seen as advantages
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering and/or Business or another relevant field.
