Engineers build the bank: Our Engineering competence strives for technical excellence, efficiency and a state-of-the-art experience for our customers. We believe in using the best tools for the task at hand with an eye into the future and working together to democratise wealth. We are the foundation pillars of Trade Republic.

In order to meet and exceed our ambitious plans, we are in the lookout for Engineering technical leaders to drive the architectural decisions and create a high-performing engineering competence across our cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Play a key part in our Engineering teams by driving architectural decisions and working on the different backend parts of our core banking and trading applications impacting the Product.
• Be the go to person for the teams within a vertical or a domain, proactively inspiring and sharing knowledge with others to foster a high-performing engineering culture
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to remove blockers, foster collaboration and drive improvements in the ways of working
• Enable engineers and take an active part in building and testing features/products using modern tools from the JVM ecosystem such as Kotlin, Spring or Vert.x, Hibernate or jOOQ
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers on the team, be seen as a role model across the organization and raise the bar on consistent basis
  

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• In-depth expertise in software engineering (preferably in the JVM ecosystem)
• You have led technical projects in the past, ideally in a fast-paced product-focused organization
• You have developed and shipped highly-scalable services within a service oriented architecture in the cloud
• You have a strong urge to deliver reliable and long-term maintainable software using an iterative development approach and continuous delivery
• You have great communication skills and you are comfortable working with stakeholders from tech and non-tech teams
• You keep up with the latest industry trends and love sharing your knowledge and coaching others
• You are keen to build a modern financial system that redefines how people invest their money in today’s markets and want to be part of our mission to democratize wealth
