Software Engineer (f/m/d)

In this position, you will join a talented and passionate team of software engineers to develop bioinformatics and e-commerce applications in the exciting field of molecular biology. Based on requirements gathered from our partners in business and operations, you will design, implement, and test new functionality in our world-class online ordering platform as well as help maintaining and supporting our existing applications. You will work closely with your teammates on site and with other software engineers and digital product managers all around the world. The position is fast-tracked to develop into the lead architect for our global, distributed software engineering team (~25 developers in 4 locations).


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in software engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English (minimum language level C1).
  • Experience with client-side Web technologies including Angular, Javascript, TypeScript, bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JSON and comparable framework or languages.
  • Experience with object-oriented software development.
  • Team player with strong communication, analytic, and problem-solving skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience with (and passion for) developing or improving the user experience within a business product, ensuring all interactions are intuitive and convenient for customers.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience with GIT, Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with designing and consuming RESTful microservices.
  • Experience with .NET, Java, or similar.
  • Knowledge of AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Experience with test case automation.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Knowledge with mobile app development.
  • Highly motivated team player with desire to keep learning.

This position is based in Regensburg, Germany. Occasional travel may be required.
