We develop and maintain applications and tools for our internal and external customers for data acquisition, data processing and visualization. We collaborate with development teams in science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, and geoscience, to develop innovative application software.Partner with the bestAs a software developer, you will work in a team developing systems to monitor and control the drilling process. Within the team, you will develop and improve applications for an OPC UA based SCADA system for various drilling processes and services. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to participate in the long-term development of a platform with a multitude of ongoing and future planned projects. Besides project work, the position offers the opportunity to improve existing development practices, especially with regards to system specification and verification. Furthermore, the position includes participation in the Baker Hughes training and development program for continuing personal and technical education.As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for:- Being responsible for specification, concept definition and development of drilling automation applications together with signal processing & control engineers
- Developing interfaces to external systems such as rig control systems
- Sustaining of existing components of a drilling automation system including the OPC UA infrastructure
- Have profound experience in development of technical software for Linux and/or Windows systems
- Demonstrate proven development experience with C++ or Java using modern software development principles
- Have a graduate degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
- Show experience in requirements documentation, verification and validation
- Be proficient in English, both spoken and written
- Demonstrate experience with agile software development approaches, e.g. SCRUM, Kanban
- Have experience with OPC UA
- Have practical experience with real-time monitoring and control applications
