Your Role and Responsibilities
As part of the Technology Sales Organization we are extending our technical expertise and looking for Software Technical Architects for our large accounts in Public & Distribution for Retail, Logistics and Telecommunication.
Role:
A trusted technical advisor to their clients C-suite executives and key stakeholders. Technical leader responsible for driving the digital reinvention of client success through innovative opportunities in Hybrid-Cloud, Automation, AI , Data and Security. Working with our Eco-System partners to design competitive solutions that leverage capabilities of IBM and System Integrators to drive IBM software revenue.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in driving the client’s innovation agenda, by bringing an independent Point Of View to recommended disruptive technologies.
Translate client business requirements into solution requirements, solution architecture and solution design.
Own the technical account plan and orchestrate resources locally and globally to execute on the identified opportunities.
Singular ability to consider and interpret important data facts , requirements whilst directing several multi-functional teams.
Drive new ways of working and client adoption by leveraging IBM Garage Methodology (design thinking, agile software development).
Proactively share industry insights and recommended practices gained from cross-client engagements.
Identify and scale successful adoption of re-usable assets/ patterns and use cases.
Skilled in collaborating with multifunctional departments to accurately define technological landscapes , processes and identify/manage risks/threats.
Development of long term tactical and strategic understanding of the client’s business objectives.
Assist in identifying IBM deployment activities and alignment between the different core roles in IBM.
Innovative and forward-thinking in building strategies and managing client portfolios for software licensing and management thereof.
Continuously Administer designed solutions to meet business requirements – with accountability for all technical design/implementation elements.
Co-creates solutions with clients, applying broad technical skills, deep industry knowledge, market competitiveness and “out of the box” thinking.

- At least 3 years experience in an Architect, Software Pre-Sales Professional, Sales Engineer, Software Services, Consulting or similar role
- At least 3 years experience in client industries
- At least 3 years experience in architecting solutions based on client requirements using architectural frameworks and methodologies
- At least 3 years experience in building and maintaining business relationships with peers and customers
- Senior Certified (e.g. TOGAF) in an Architect, Software Pre-Sales Professional, Sales Engineer, Software Services, Software Consulting or similar role
- English: Fluent
- German: Fluent
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 5 years experience in an Architect, Software Pre-Sales Proferssional, Sales Engineer, Software Services, Consulting or similar role
- At least 5 years experience in client industries
- At least 5 years experience in architecting solutions based on client requirements using architectural frameworks and methodologies
- At least 5 years experience in building and maintaining business relationships with peers and customers
- Cloud computing architecture and/or development skills
- Red Hat OpenShift admin and/or devlopment accreditation
