CES offers solutions to complex multidisciplinary engineering tasks for all civil engineering and related sectors. CES renders services ranging from preliminary investigations to construction supervision and cost controlling, training of the clients’ staff, advisory services in the operation and maintenance of installations, as well as the organization and strengthening of public authorities and institutions. CES works mainly in the field of development cooperation and implements infrastructure projects for national high-end clients (ministries and line authorities) funded by international donors.

We are looking for an experienced international Social Impact Expert (f/m/d) for our ongoing and upcoming engineering consulting projects worldwide.

Job Description

Assignments on a regular basis in our internationally financed engineering consulting projects as Social Impact Expert for the following fields of activity:
  • Preparation of the social parts of ESMFs, ESIAs and ESMPs
  • Handling of land ownership issues and preparation of RAPs
  • Monitoring of Works Contractors’ compliance during construction with the ESMP
  • Capacity building in social impact monitoring and mitigation
  • Preparation and implementation of public awareness campaigns and stakeholder workshops.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION
  • MSc in Sociology, Social Anthropology or similar
  • Fluent in English; Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an asset
  • Good report writing skills

Experience
  • Experience in the preparation of ESMFs, SEPs, RAPs, ESIAs, ESMPs and other social studies as well as in monitoring of Works Contractors’ compliance during construction with the ESMP in internationally financed development cooperation projects
  • Experience in land ownership and resettlement issues
  • Proven expertise with international policies, sustainable development guidelines and social impact management standards of various donor agencies
  • Good knowledge and proven experience in the application of the Sustainability Guidelines of KfW Development Bank and the World Bank Environmental and Social Safeguards
  • Working experience in one or several of our core markets, namely Sub-Sahara Africa, Latin America and the Balkans / South East Europe.
