Senior Software Developer (m/f/d)

Our team is looking for a Senior Developer (f/m/d) familiar and experienced with modern programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript. We are building and evolving a modern cloud-native marketing application (see www.emarsys.com). If you want to work with us, implementing and using latest concepts of cloud development such as microservice-oriented architecture, containerized deployment (Docker/K8S), service mesh, and others to solve enterprise requirements.

The Role:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) for cloud software projects, you design, develop and operate microservices for SAP’s next generation Marketing Platform (SAP Emarsys). You will also have the chance to evaluate the fit of new concepts and technologies for requirements of our newly planned Marketing product offering. It is important to us that you are eager to constantly learn about novel technologies in the context of cloud native engineering, distributed systems, and DevOps.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• 3+ years of programming experience working in a scrum team, ideally on a full stack
• Proficiency in a modern programming language (such as Java or Javascript)
• Sense for quality assurance with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing functional tests as part of the development process
• Ability to operate autonomously - you will be in the driver’s seat of your work and must be willing and able to run with a high degree of independence
• Constructive and open style of communication, working as a team player
• Effective communication skills, focusing on the presentation of technical information
• Fluent English and good German language skills

Optional, but beneficial skills:

• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Experience with multi-tier distributed systems
• Experience in delivering software in the public cloud (on BTP or GCP)
