Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop innovative sustainable solutions to challenging technical problems? You would be joining our Offshore Structures Team. This exciting team of experts support the entire offshore wind business within RWE. We work to build a renewable energy future and as a team to set the standard amongst our peers. We invite you to bring your experience into play as you help to deliver on projects throughout a wind turbine foundation’s life cycle.
Are you our new colleague?
Your key tasks and responsibilities:
- Technical lead role in the team developing RWE’s floating foundations
- Supporting the RWE demonstrator projects on design decisions and ensuring that the experience gained is transferred into subsequent projects to achieve savings potential
- Transferring the experience gained from demonstrator projects into future full scale development projects
- Leading RWE’s knowledge expansion through novel research activities and participation in wider Joint Industry Projects
- Market engagement with key suppliers to track the development of key technologies.
- Assessment of the risks and benefits of floating foundation types and separate technologies throughout the lifecycle, from design through to operation and decommissioning.
- Providing technical expertise to the operational teams on maintaining the structures through life.
You may be required to perform the following activities:
- Support the wider structures team on issues associated with offshore engineering.
- Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects and support to Procurement, Quality, and HSSE departments
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external design houses and fabricators to produce cost effective and value-added solutions
Your profile:
- A degree in naval architecture, or equivalent experience
- Have strong experience in offshore engineering, preferably floating wind structures
- Project management experience and experience of fabrication
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Good communicator and excellent team player
- Fluent spoken and written English
