Job Description Summary The Senior Medical Advisor will lead the Medical Affairs activities for the DACH Region. Supporting all activities of Drug Safety team. This is purely a pharmaceutical role.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of scientific support and leading the Medical Affairs activities for the DACH Region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)
  • Provide high quality medical expertise and strategic support to the commercial team and other functions within GE Healthcare Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx)
  • Participation at scientific meetings with active role in presenting key clinical evidence to referral groups and KOLs
  • Single medical point of contact and relationship development with key medical opinion leaders; including but not limited to Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology and Oncology specialists
  • Act as the medical liaison for medical societies, government agencies, ministries of health and advocacy groups
  • Review and approval of promotional and other materials for scientific content according to ABPI and local codes including also signatory. Handling complaints about promotional activities
  • Support creation of clinical summaries, training materials and oversight medical information activities
  • Training commercial teams about products
  • Responsible to assess and support all activities related to investigator sponsored trials and Post marketing surveillance studies. Collaboration with R&D providing input and feedback to the development plans
  • Act as an expert for the company’s key products, contributing to strategy, tactics and materials for those products as well representing the products at clinical study and advisory board meetings
  • Working closely with both the Commercial Director for the regions and the Global R&D team, provide scientific / medical support to the sales, marketing and regulatory activities in the region. Support the implementation of the region’s strategy directly and through local partners
  • Work with the Marketing team in the organisation of, and participation in, regional and national scientific meetings
  • Responsibility for the preparation and / or review of scientific product presentations to be used in customer meetings both by themselves and by the commercial team
  • Medical input to the production of key promotional material for new or existing products, review and provide medical approval for all advertising and promotional material for the Region.

Responsibilities regarding Pharmacovigilance

  • Supporting all activities of Local Drug Safety team and Graduate Plan Officer (Stufenplanbeauftragte)
  • Implementation of PV key responsibilities at the Local Safety Unit
  • Responsibility for withdrawal/recall of a product from the market in case of emerging risks for patients
  • Implementation of drug alert plans, DHCP letters
  • Risk assessment/safety signal detection
  • Medical review of all PTC/overview on product quality, safety, efficacy, environmental effects, falsifications. Medical assessment and risk-benefit evaluation.
  • Close communication with QA and national health authorities

Qualifications and experience

  • PhD in a Life Science discipline, pharmacy or a suitably qualified medical doctor
  • Excellent presentation skills when training HCPs about our products and related clinical concepts
  • Some experience at Medical Affairs department of an international pharmaceutical company
  • Liaise with marketing and sales teams to achieve positive resolutions with timely follow-ups
  • A high degree of initiative and the ability to work systematically and independently is expected
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and German
