Job Purpose and Impact

The Financial Controller is responsible for providing insight and assurance on the financials of the assigned business. The position holder will work with various stakeholders ensuring information from different sources (Shared Service Centre, tax, treasury, financial risk management, management information & decision support and other functions) is interpreted and understood. He/she is accountable for financial statement assurance and performing a first line of defense within the control framework. Business partnering is a key part of the role, working closely with the shared service center and providing support on complex topics and changes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and sign off financial reporting (US GAAP, German GAAP, LLFSR, CRP, etc.) with CBS, ensuring reporting reflects business activities and drives insight and necessary action
  • Own watchlist and accountable to ensure material business activities are reported
  • Promotes control mindset within business and collaborates to ensure strong control framework execution
  • Maintain close cooperation with commercial, supply chain and other business/product managers in order to understand the local business challenges and strategies
  • Work with in country Controllers teams on implementing new local or US GAAP driven standards and requirements
  • Provide specialize support in case of complex issues or process changes to Finance Operations
  • Support business growth and specialized finance advice

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of RtR process (Record to Report) or controlling experience
  • Proven experience with local (German GAAP) and International (IFRS and US GAAP) reporting standards
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated change agility – demonstrate openness to new approaches and ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills (German and English) both written and verbal and ability to influence others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Working Knowledge of SAP & experience using accounting technology applications
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and finance shared service centers
  • Proven experience and success in a complex matrix organization
