Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of Teledyne Technologies, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Machine Visiondigital cameras. Our cameras are vital components in the fast growing transformative industries of robotics, machine learning, inspection, biomedical/life sciences, retail, traffic control, virtual reality, and more.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Engineerto join our Sales Engineering team in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In this role, you will work closely with our sales team to generate growth by winning design contracts with top tier accounts and integrators. You will be providing technical consultation and support to engineers and application developers to aid them through design in cycles. With the versatility of our products, you will find unique and challenging problems to solve on a day-to-day basis.

Internally, you will be the link between sales, product management, engineering, technical support, and the customer. You will work closely with these stakeholders to generate successful technical solutions for end users and integrators using knowledge of software development and hardware design. You will oversee and act as the point of contact for proof-of-concept designs.

You will receive training to gain in depth knowledge about our products, software, and procedures. As you will be the front line technical representative in direct contact with customers, this role requires excellent communication skills. This position is ideal for junior or intermediate level engineers who enjoy technical development as well as working with a broad range of people on solving complex problems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical consultation and support to key customers across multiple product lines

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and debug code (C++/C#/Python) associated with customer applications

  • Design and troubleshoot low voltage hardware systems associated with customer applications

  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to improve our products and offerings

  • Work closely with Sales/Account Managers to maintain healthy relationships with key customers

  • Use market and technical knowledge to recommend product and documentation improvements

  • Travel to tradeshows and customer sites to promote products and services (when safe to do so)

  • Provide internal trainings and presentations to other teams

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • 2+ years of technical experience such as software development or hardware design

  • Enjoy talking to people

  • Fluent in English – Written and Spoken (other languages are an asset)

  • Fluent in Object Oriented Programming Languages (C++ or Python Preferred)

  • Excellent all-around technical knowledge (PC hardware, software, electronics, Windows, MacOS, Linux)

  • Excellent problem solving and customer support skills

  • Willing to travel within Europe (occasionally outside of EU such as HQ in Canada)

  • Experience with Machine Vision and/or People Counting/Capacity Management systems is an asset
