Within the Integrated Risk Management (IRM) division, the department Risk Analytics & Reporting is responsible for the internal risk model of Munich Re Group and the Group Actuarial Function. This includes the continuous refinement and improvement of the risk methodology as well as delivering the key figures regarding Munich Re’s risk situation. This position focuses on modelling market and credit risk of Munich Re Group.

Your job

  • Refining and implementing the Group-wide risk methodology for financial risks. This comprises enhancements of the methods, systems, and processes employed
  • Assuming responsibility for credit and market risk reporting in internal and external risk reports, and for validating the market and credit risk model
  • Conducting benchmark studies and stress tests for external stakeholders
  • Communicating results to relevant stakeholders, i.e. management, supervisors, analysts and investors
  • Representing IRM in projects of the Munich Re Group
  • Strengthening the link between investment management and risk management by providing internal consultations and fostering a common understanding on relevant risk management topics

Your profile

  • Excellent degree in a quantitative discipline, ideally complemented by tertiary qualifications in mathematical finance, risk management, or actuarial science
  • Several years of professional experience in financial risk management
  • Proven experience in modeling financial instruments and respective model validation
  • Sound knowledge of economic valuation and Solvency II
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders at a very senior level
  • Excellent analytical and methodological expertise
  • Proficiency in Excel and coding skills in R or MATLAB
  • High ambition within a dynamic, challenging environment
  • Excellent command of English and German
