The Systems Integration Engineer will apply a broad variety of engineering subject areas to build, integrate and maintain the Johnson & Johnson Digital Solutions Platform within the R&D organization. This role lies at the intersection of hardware and software. This individual will also support test design and execution including calibration, characterization, and engineering testing across the various technical teams. Applicants should have experience working with sophisticated electromechanical systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in medical devices to gain deep technical and medical industry knowledge!
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete subsystem-level integration across multi-functional subject areas
- Root cause, solve, and repair novel issues that arise across the R&D systems by working across hardware, electrical, and software teams
- Support cross-functional teams to test new features in labs and Voice-of-Customer feedback sessions
- Support development of test methods and fixtures for system/subsystem integration, test and calibration
- Characterize system/subsystem, analyze test results, and provide meaningful insights or conclusions
- Support systems engineering activities across the enterprise
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Electrical, Software Engineering or other applicable technical degree
- Knowledge across software and/or electrical engineering subject areas
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on new technologies
- Experience partitioning and decomposing sophisticated engineering problems into solvable problems
- Ability to understand and modify existing code (for example, C++ or python)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (mother tongue, bilingual, or technical conversation)
- Ability to travel up to 5%, domestic and international
- Physical Demands: This role requires standing, walking, sitting, keyboarding, lifting or carrying of devices, and gross manipulation or reaching of devices at shoulder level. Devices are up to 6.8kg (~15lbs)
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ or more years’ of related experience or advanced degree
- Understanding of engineering concepts such as system architecture, implementation, testing, and maintenance is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical or computer systems
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging software
