A vacancy for a System Engineer for Telecommunication Processor and Navigation Equipment (d/m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn.
The successful applicant will join the Telecom & Navigation Processing Germany department which specializes in the development of Electronic Equipment for on-board telecommunication and navigation subsystems.
In this scope, the current project is related to a development of equipment for next generation European Navigation Satellites.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • System Architecture definition of equipment for data processing and control applications.
  • Design Lead / Engineering responsible for digital processing equipment design covering mainly hardware (electrical, thermal and mechanical) aspects and good knowledge of software (drivers and application) aspects.
  • Coordination of all topics related to hardware equipment development and for interfacing with the customers/suppliers for technical matters.
  • Identify the activities of the development life cycle and the corresponding reviews that are necessary to develop the equipment/product and ensure the level of confidence which is required by customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the complete development process, working in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and any other disciplines involved in the product design cycle.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • You have a Master Degree in Engineering e.g. Telecommunication engineering, Electrical engineering, RF Engineering, etc.
  • You have proven experience in Hardware Equipment Development (incl. Electrical, Thermal and Mechanical design) is mandatory.
  • You have a good understanding of software development processes and ability to manage software suppliers.
  • You have In-depth understanding of signal processing, end-to-end delays and performance analysis of data/signal links.
  • Your are experienced with development of hardware for Telecommunication, IF/RF communication equipment and/or Navigation equipments would be a plus.
  • Generation of technical Work Breakdown Structure and the development schedule
  • You have experience in technical risk management and proven record of timely resolution of technical issues.
  • You speak English with a negotiation level and it is mandatory for this position, and you speak german with proficiency
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
