Position overview

We are looking for a Supervisor Interior Design for our Ford of Europe Design department, based in Cologne. The position will be strenghtening our XLAB activities.

The focus of the XLAB is to continuously improve the customer experience of our vehicles Interiors and to make it a individual and innovative experience by creating highly emotional design solutions.

You are an exceptional Design professional who is passionate about Design. A true storyteller, with a keen eye for modern Design, who keeps up to date with the latest trends & technologies and obsesses over the finest detail in Design and user experience.

You will lead a small, motivated team, and are key to stimulating creativity and collaborations with your cross functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop highly emotional, industry leading interior design proposals and develop to final solutions
• Be responsible for and lead the development of innovative strategies & customer centric Interior design solutions.
• Take a leading role in the continuous creation of Design stories that are relevant for the product
• Always putting the customer first - working closely with your cross functional team to leverage synergies and incorporate the customer perspective
• Collaborate and implement key strategies to maximise creativity
• Create modern experiences by applying digital & analogue tools
• Team lead, coach and support team members on various projects.
• Be an pro-active member of the Design studio, helping to nurture design talent and foster a professional and creative environment that delivers design excellence

Essential requirements

• Completed Design studies as well as 5 year or more of relevant professional experience.
• Independent, self-reliant and ambitious mind-set, also on "white space" projects.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to understand context in a holistic picture
• Attention to detail, and technical understanding of design development & feasibility
• Strong aesthetic sensibility, and broad trends awareness
• Creative mindset based on strong enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility and innovation.
• Outstanding organisation skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with functional partners
• Fluent in written and spoken English

This position is based in Cologne.
