For temporary employment of 12 months Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg is looking for a

Senior RF Design Engineer (m/f/d) Your Tasks

  • Develop and optimize radio frequency systems using advanced design and simulation tools.
  • Lead the integration of RF systems into spacecraft, focusing on telemetry and flight termination systems.
  • Prototype and test RF components using standard industry equipment to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve RF-related issues using a hands-on approach and common test and measurement equipment.
  • Integrate and program spacecraft transmitters using C++ for real-time applications.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to align RF systems with overall project goals.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting for design processes, tests, and results to meet compliance and standards.
  • Apply strong lateral thinking and social skills to solve complex problems both independently and in team settings.

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics and/or related discipline - a postgraduate degree is considered advantageous.
  • 8 years of experience (or equivalent) in RF system integration and operation
  • Experience with radio frequency system design, link budgets, common RF prototyping and test equipment.
  • Experience with spacecraft telemetry and flight termination systems is considered to be advantageous.
  • The ability to work ’hands-on’ from first principles to diagnose electrical and electronic issues using common test and measurement equipment. Equally comfortable with theoretical and practical approaches to problem solving.
  • Experience with spacecraft transmitter integration in C++ for real time is considered advantageous.
  • Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English).
  • Strong lateral thinking skills, high social intelligence, and the ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team.
