Background

Hy2gen Group business consists of the developing, building, owning and operating electrolyzer facilities

for the production of green hydrogen and green hydrogen-based e-fuels such as methanol, jet-fuel and ammonia.

Being founded in 2017, Hy2gen is working toward the leading position in the green hydrogen market. Currently, Hy2gen’s project pipeline has reached 11 Gigawatts of electrolyzer capacity with the 6 main production plants located in Canada, France, Germany and Norway. And we are not done yet… Hy2gen will continue expanding in the years to come and finance will be a critical part of that expansion.

A typical day in this role of the Senior Manager Corporate Finance at Hy2gen Group provides an opportunity to lead root-cause analysis and uncover core issues to drive cost reductions with stakeholders; manage, evaluate and create meaningful business reporting; and build and maintain complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Handling liquidity management of Hy2gen Group

  • Invoice management and payment including debitor management together with (internal or external) accounting expert
  • Invoicing and creditor management together with (internal or external) accounting expert
  • Support preparation of monthly BWA and accounting management together with (internal or external) accounting expert
  • Bank coverage for Corporate Finance purposes, including bank relationship, negotiation of terms, managing of banking pools
  • Handling of project finance for production SPVs
  • Providing support to the CFO on Investor Relations, Investor Reports and Investor Communication
  • Competencies

    Functional competencies:

    • Experience in building relationships, communication, negotiation and client service skills.
    • Robust financial modelling and numerical skills – IT skills in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
    • A high standard of commercial and economic awareness.
    • Strong financial modeling and financial analysis skills.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.

    Required skills and experience

    Education:

    • Master’s degree from relevant fields, e.g., finance, accounting, business, economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Math, Computer Science) or equivalent. CFA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA certification will be a plus.
    • A first-level university degree in combination with additional years of qualifying experience in corporate finance or accounting may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years of progressive professional work experience in corporate finance for electrochemistry and/or chemical engineering sectors, ideally gained in accountancy practice or a Corporate Finance boutique.
    • Private Equity and Debt Advisory experience advantageous.
    • 5+ years of direct management experience.

    Language:

    • Fluency in English, both written and presentation skills.
    • Professional proficiency in French and/or German is highly appreciated.

    Other:

    • Technical competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Projects.

    Key working relationships

    Position reports to: CFO

    Works closely with: Operational departments and country office management teams.
