Job Purpose/Role
We are looking for a Senior Investment Controller (f/m/d) with strong focus on valuation to strengthen our Equity Valuation and Investment Controlling team in Munich with immediate effect. This position combines a broad range of responsibilities and focuses on the business lines direct infrastructure and renewable energy in the company’s growing illiquid alternative segment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting regular company valuations according to IFRS in close cooperation with the investment and asset management teams - including presentation and discussion of valuation results with ACP and Allianz Senior Management
  • Support in further developing ACP’s valuation framework by striving for continuous improvement from a process and methodological perspective ensuring a state of the art and efficient valuation function
  • Ongoing monitoring of the investment performance of the Allianz’ direct infrastructure and renewable energy portfolios including regular analysis and preparation of P&L and liquidity planning together in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Close cooperation with accounting and risk management colleagues during investment lifecycle to challenge operational and financial development of the portfolio from a governance perspective
  • Onboarding of selective new investments including Purchase Price Allocations and set-up of reporting and planning frameworks of portfolio companies in close collaboration with the asset management and accounting teams
  • Manage regular investor reporting and be main contact person for Senior Management on controlling and valuation matters for selective assets and third party strategies
  • Responsible for managing recently launched third party funds in the alternative universe (e.g. Private Equity) from a valuation and controlling perspective. This includes initial due diligence and ongoing assessment of valuations provided by external funds (GPs)
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics or a comparable degree program; additional certifications such as CFA, CVA etc. are a plus
  • Several years of work experience in the area of valuation, corporate finance or investment controlling - ideally in asset management industry or at a Big4 company
  • Additional experience in areas like accounting, risk management or fund of fund investments (Private Equity) is helpful
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint and openness to new digital solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, independent working style
  • A high level of motivation, excellent communication skills, strong team spirit and willingness to take on responsibility
  • Written and oral fluency in English required, working knowledge of German is a plus
