Your Role: Requirement Engineer

Our Requirement Engineers build the foundation for the overall project by outlining in detail the customer requirements with the most relevant customer stakeholders (e.g. Product owner; software engineers). The gathered information will be structured in a Business Architecture leveraging BPMN/UML. The Business Architecture outlines crystal clear the requirements and how they are connected. It serves as the foundation for the Technology Architecture and as a “contract” between IT and LoB. You will work to a high degree independently and self-organized in an agile development team.

YOUR MISSION

• Understand and structure customer requirements of multiple stakeholders
• Prepare, conduct and document requirements workshops with business users, technical stakeholders, and development teams
• Identify and describe the use cases and workflows that bring value to the customer
• Derive functional and non-functional requirements from different perspectives and design an implementation roadmap in alignment with all stakeholders
• Derive the Technology Architecture from Business Architecture by selecting the most suitable technology stack
• Turn the requirements into features and iterative user stories and prioritize features and user stories according to their value as well as to the roadmap
• Organize the product backlog with the development teams
• Support the UT architects in developing suitable measures for customer involvement
• Coordinate cross-team features with the product owners of other teams and coordinate technical dependencies
• Keep an eye on the value of the requirements and their ROI of the product
• Be the contact person for technical requirements from a user perspective

Job requirements

YOU WILL ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of requirements engineering and business analysis
• Degree or education in computer science or business informatics or similar
• Strong analytical skills and fast understanding of the customer’s needs
• IT know-how and understanding of processes as well as agile project management (e.g. SCRUM, KANBAN)
• Very good understanding of the Design Thinking process or similar analytical methodologies
• Good understanding of TOGAF and BPMN/UML or similar frameworks and modeling languages
• Knowledge of software metrics and complexity estimation, e.g. function point method or similar
• High documentation, presentation, and writing skills
• Good knowledge of creating frameworks and the role requirements in the various process areas
• Basic hands-on experience in quality and problem management (e.g. 8D methodology)
• Experience in system development, testing, and validation
• Understanding of frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Very good knowledge in dealing with requirement engineering tools (DOORS, Polarion, etc.)
• Verbal and written skills in English and German ( MUST)

ALSO COOL

• Experience in Big Data Technologies, such as Apache’s Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE or Cloudera
• Very good understanding of Cloud Technologies (AWS, MS Azure, GCP) and different layers (xaaS)
• Very good understanding of container-based services with Docker and Kubernetes
