The Reliability Engineer plays a key role in the life cycle and success of our products. Developing the best products for our coustomers and delivering a great customer experience in regard of realiability is your focus.
In order to design realiability into our products you coordinate and collaborate with all engineering disciplines, deploy methods and tools to ensure a systematic approach to predicting, improving and verifying the reliability of our products.
The position is highly cross-functional and requires effective team collaboration in a fast-paced and international environment. Close coopertation with various departments is required, including R&D, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product line management.
Responsibility
- Apply engineering principles and reliability engineering techniques to prevent or reduce the likelihood or frequency of failures
- Create reliability models for new laser products and their key components to estimate their likely reliability in the field
- Drive root cause analyses and implementation of corrective measures for failures, and containment measures as needed
- Define requirements for new product developments related to reliability and translate them into technical concepts and test plans
- Manage the reliability lab and its equipment
- Plan and perform reliability testing, analyze and report results, draw conclusions and define measures
- Manage projects to improve reliability of current products and components
- Drive continuous improvements and standardization of our reliability process and methods
- Establish requirements for suppliers to ensure reliability of purchased components
- Monitor reliability of products in the field, collect data, generate key performance indicators and define corrective measures
- Bachelor or master’s degree in the field of engineering
- Advanced understanding of reliability principles and methods / Black Belt preferred (Experienced with Weibull analysis, HASS/HALT testing, FMEA, PDCA, CIP, 8D etc.)
- Experience with project management and problem-solving methods
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with different departments and levels of the organization to identify and resolve challenges and remove obstacles
- Strong commitment to meet our goals
- Of advantage is experience in design and development of lasers or laser components and/or manufacturing
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and/or optical design principles
- Awareness for quality, reliability and costs
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Good team player
- Good technical English skills
- Statistical analysis using tools such as Minitab or similar
