All we need is...

a smart Product Manager Home & Living

As Product Manager you are part of the Nedis Category Management Team and you report to the Category Manager. Within the set frameworks, which arise from the business operations and the concrete annual planning, you are responsible for the actual implementation of the Home & Living product group throughout the product life cycle (cradle to grave). Your workplace is in the Netherlands.

Tasks and responsibilities

New Product Introductions (NPI)

  • Product development: (market) research, knowledge exchange, product evaluation, price and positioning proposals and responsibility for the business case;
  • Product data collection, processing, tracking and management in the business systems (e.g. ProductIP);
  • Retrieving forecast (internal) customer for new product introductions in order to purchase the right quantities for the initial order;
  • Main contact for suppliers and sourcing specialists in Asia;
  • Visit trade fairs for sourcing new products (when possible).

Assortment monitoring and rationalisation

  • Monitoring, interpreting and processing the product group in relation to price and positioning;
  • Monitoring, interpreting and processing (progress, effectiveness and efficiency) of the product group (back orders, rotating and non-rotating stock, etc.);
  • Monitoring, interpreting and processing relevant internal and external information regarding the product group variables (price, promotion, presentation, etc.), channels and competition (if necessary visit (potential) customers, competitors, etc.);
  • At later stage of PLC: advisory role towards stock management (purchasing) and phasing out strategies (marketing).

Knowledge transfer to internal customers

  • Making product technology and features understandable to (international) sales representatives;
  • Content of promotional materials, training materials and providing training to internal/external customers;
  • Supporting sales at trade fairs (if necessary);
  • Supporting ICS in solving (internal) customer questions;
  • Analysis of the supplier market;
  • Trend watching, new technical developments;
  • Acquiring, benchmarking and analysing market data;
  • New product/market developments (if necessary visiting trade fairs, shops, country managers, etc.).

Skills, experience, and personal characteristics:

  • Proven experience in Product Management;
  • HBO work and thinking level, preferably in a commercial direction;
  • Knowledge of Retail and E-tail;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be able to work effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Embraces change, with a ’can do’ attitude;
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to in-house systems and suggest improvements;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced dynamic environment successfully managing multiple tasks & priorities;
  • Good command of written and spoken English (Dutch is a pré).
