Plant Controller Job Responsibilities:
  • Partners with Plant Manager to direct site results and investment strategies to increase growth & profitability
  • Presents Financial Reports and Analysis to local management team as well as Business Unit leaders
  • Achieves budget objectives through collaboration with commercial and operation Leaders to track key performance indicators and initiate corrective actions
  • Manages the local Finance and Accounting Team
  • Owns Monthly Closings Process and financial statement preparation in compliance with HGB and US-GAAP Responsible for the accurate reporting, consolidation, and interpretation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and forecasts for local plant in compliance with HGB and US-
  • Leads all financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management for local site
  • Oversees and reviews accounting responsibilities including month end ledger close, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Main Local Point of Contact and Responsible Party for Internal and External Audits
  • Preparation of quarterly Reporting & Tax Packages
  • Responsible for banking activity to include at least preparation of documents, review/approval of wire transfers
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures in conjunction with corporate policies and procedures
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
  • Reviews capital appropriation requests
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Support Global Tax Team with local ownership of national tax filings and processes
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Manages Direct Reports Locally
  • Communicates effectively and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excels at multi-tasking, organization, and time management
  • Develops strong working relationships with colleagues across all functions
  • Strong research, analytical and modeling skills, experience with financial statement analysis, accounting process / procedures and internal controls
  • Strong Excel skills including data analysis and forward-looking modeling
  • Independent, structured and team-oriented way of working
  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity, never compromising the team’s ethical standards
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge all accounting and tax related legislation, regulations, and reporting procedures
  • Experience in US group or audit firm
  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or related major is required
  • Fluent in German and English Language
  • Proven Leadership skills with at least 2 years of Managing Direct Reports
  • Experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experienced with Matrix Organizations and multinational companies preferred
