In your role as Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer you are part of the project team. Your core task is the selection and development of the required manufacturing processes for the respective product/project.
Your internal interfaces are mainly project management, product development, purchasing, costing and quality. The external interfaces are mostly own plants or suppliers.
What you will be doing
- Supporting product development in optimizing the design in terms of manufacturability
- Creation of requests for prototype tools (investments and parts)
- Creation of inquiries of all investments for series tools and assembly equipment
- Definition of the tooling concepts and the processes in cooperation with the respective responsible persons
- Compilation of the best possible processes and tools for the preparation of the calculation for the preparation of management decisions
- FMEA creation with APIS
- Evaluation and optimization of complex assembly processes and design for manufacture
- Manage and track cost, quality and time in tooling projects
- Control of tooling and equipment progress during production for series and pilot projects at home and abroad
- Procurement and tracking of sample parts and measurement reports for evaluation by Pro-duct Engineering
- Checking and release of tools according to specification
- Completed bachelor’s degree in engineering or technician / master craftsman with relevant work experience
- Sound experience in the area of tool and/or plant engineering, preferably in the area of plastic injection molding, stamping or assembly technology
- Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes and flexible assembly/manufacturing process design as well as experience with small batch production
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of MS Office programs
- Customer focus and high level of commitment
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with a multicultural team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
