Job Description

NEXUS / ASTRAIA GmbH is a widely loved and internationally installed java-Desktop application consolidating 20 years of science driven medical development work.

We are looking for a motivated programmer to help both with the maintenance of this application, as well as to be involved in the future redesign and implementation of the planned next-generation web based replacement.

As a full-time developer you will be working on project custom solutions, bug-fixes and feature requests, as well as the refactoring and redesign work necessary for moving NEXUS / ASTRAIA into the future.

Your Profile

You must bring:

+ At least 2 years of Java development experience, very familiar with at least the Java 8 API.

+ Proficient with either SVN or Git versioning system

+ Fairly proficient with SQL (i.e., understand how to run a query via JDBC, and know how to use the various JOIN types; INNER, LEFT or RIGHT OUTER

+ Familiar with the concept of the separation of concerns and how this applies to application development (i.e., MVC)

+ Familiar with one or more web development frameworks

+ Very good knowledge of written and spoken English

+ Familiar with medical application development, or with medical related systems and workflows

+ Familiar with popular database persistence frameworks

+ Familiar with the Spring framework
