Resonsibilities


  • Mechanical Lead Engineer is a member of a cross-functional project team. As a team member he/she is responsible for fulfillment of innovation project objectives in therms of mechanical designs incl. simulations in the field of "optoelectronic lighting systems for applications in vehicle exteriors and interiors with special focus of ground and interior projection systems”
  • You will be responsible for and manage the following main topics:
  • Key person of innovation topics in terms of mechanical systems – define and lead mechanical system definitions
  • Performs 3D CAD design for mechanical modules (incl. optical and electronical parts) of a lighting system following company and customers’ standards and specific customer requirements, legal requirements and CAE simulations.
  • Understanding of related data generation like mBOM and know how transfere to related departments like manufacturing or purchasing
  • Prepares and performs presentations to customers and suppliers. Actively negotiates about solutions proposed to customers/suppliers with respect to interests and requirements of Plastic Omnium.
  • Actively communicates with experts inside and outside of Plastic Omnium. Scouts for innovation opportunities, cost optimizations and actively participates in their implementation.
  • Ensures technical tasks related to thermal, electronics, materials & technology, structural analysis and programming topics according to needs.
  • To evaluate technical concepts, you will be part pre-development studies and projects in the field of innovation at Plastic Omnium Lighting with a strategic orientation in coordination with central departments and experts
  • With constantly new challenges, you participate in our technological lead and help shape it

Requirements

  • University degree (Bc. , Master or Dr.) in machinery or mechanical Engineering/Physics/Electronics
  • Experience: Long term experience in mechanical design of lighting modules and simulation (incl. Knowlege of related tools like Catia. In addition relevant know how in related component definition
  • Expert knowledge: of automotive exterior lighting systems by knowing main technologies and key aspects
  • Personality: Strong communication skills and persuasive skills on a technical level, as well as a confident demeanor, structured and independent way of working and customer affinity. Strong affinity to mechanical systems and 3D CAT design
  • Also: Willingness to travel in Germany and abroad, very good written and spoken German and English skills
