Your Future Contribution

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will join our ambitious and forward-thinking colleagues in the Data Science team and bring your expertise to make an impact on a global scale. At HomeToGo, we rank 20+ million accommodation offers using machine learning and process 500+ million images using deep learning research techniques, therefore you need not only to ensure high quality algorithm development, but also efficiency and scalability of modelling frameworks. You will shape the future of our data products as we scale to the global stage.

How You’ll Add Value
  • Improve the world’s largest vacation rental search engine by designing, developing, and implementing high impact ML models.
  • Build HomeToGo’s long-term data science strategy making sure it is aligned with the company’s broader commercial and strategic vision.
  • Oversee ML process automation, optimization, scalability, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure proper selection of model offline quality metrics as well as an adequate level of model explainability.
  • Search routinely for new methods and technologies and drive changes for greater success.
  • Lead and mentor a small group of talented Data Scientists
  • Collaborate closely with business and product stakeholders to come up with creative solutions to commercial and/or user problems.
You’ll Be Successful In This Role If You
  • Have 5+ years experience in working on ML projects at scale, including full cycle from data mining to production ready model. MSc or PhD in a quantitative subject is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Python, SQL, and large scale data processing engines (e.g. Apache Spark), ideally in the context of distributed cloud computing (e.g. AWS, GCP).
  • Proven track record of driving successful long-term ML projects, involving numerous iterations and, ideally, multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and mentoring other Data Scientists.
  • Experience working in search, recommendation and other related e-commerce or marketplace technologies is a plus.
