ABOUT THE JOBOptioPay is looking for a Junior UX designer to join our Product & Insights team. OptioPay is a company that puts customers first, with customer centered design principles built into our mission statement and company-wide objectives.
YOUR ROLE
- As a Junior UX Designer you will plan and conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies and usability testings. You formulate hypotheses, set research objectives, participate in recruitment activities for user research and run research sessions.
- You discover patterns and insights and reach unbiased conclusions through usability testings, focus groups, interviews, surveys, field studies, card sorting and other research techniques. You document the evaluation of qualitative and quantitative data, in order to help the Product team create an intuitive and accessible product. You work with the Design team on discovering, drafting and implementing UX improvements. To communicate the research efforts, you prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- You are able to read and understand business requirements. You can create early prototypes and customer journeys, and you understand that to succeed you will be working within technical constraints.
- You will be expected to collaborate and work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams – Product/Engineering/Marketing/Business.
- You will need to navigate the complexities that can occur when attempting to do what is best for OptioPay customers (end-consumers and B2B stakeholders).
- You can work independently, yet you are pro-active in asking for help or guidance when you don’t know how to solve a challenge.
- You love taking responsibility for your work and you strive to put effort into the detail.
- You have at least 1.5 years of professional experience in the field of UX design or as a Junior UX designer.
- You can share your project history in your portfolio or slide deck.
- You can explain in an interview how you approached the problems and challenges of one of your projects and what UX processes and tools you used to address the customer needs.
- You value customer research and testing, and you are willing to learn how to conduct research sessions so that you can validate and iterate your ideas and concepts
- It would be great if you have experience in quantitative and qualitative research-related tasks including planning, synthesis and sharing research results to internal and external stakeholders. It is a big plus if you have experience with remote testing tools.
- You are very experienced in using Figma/Sketch or comparable vector-based design tools.
- You are very well organized and able to professionally communicate with co-workers and you are eager to support others within the team.
- Since our product will be based in Germany, the UX research requires a near-native/fluent/good German speaker with near-native/fluent/good English skills to thrive in our English-speaking work environment.
