We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research and medical care in the area of Computational Psychiatry for the earliest possible date. The professorship is located in the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The future holder of the position should have a proven track record in the application of computational image data analysis. A special focus is on the development, testing, validation of AI-based methods as well as their implementation for clinical research and the prediction of therapy courses. Successful applicants should have expertise in imaging or neurophysiological procedures, molecular studies, and clinical psychiatric research. They will be distinguished by high-level publications in psychiatric or neuroscience journals.

The future position holder is expected to be highly engaged in initiatives of the Medical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University and to cooperate with the Research Center Jülich within the framework of JARA Brain. The cooperation in the research focus areas of the faculty as well as associated research networks (e.g. SFB TRR 219, SFB 1382, KFO 344, KFO 5011, IRTG 2150, GRK 2375, GRK 2415, GRK 2610, PAK 961, CIOABCD, JARA, IZKF AACHEN) as well as and the attraction of external funding are part of the prerequisites. In addition to the opportunity to work in clinical care in psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychosomatics, the candidate is expected to teach courses in the subject in the model course of study in medicine as well as in the master’s course of study in clinical psychology and psychotherapy.

Prerequisites are completed medical studies, medical license and a special qualification for scientific work. In case of a completed residency in psychiatry and psychotherapy or psychosomatic and psychotherapeutic medicine, the professorship can be combined with a senior medical function. Furthermore, didactic skills and a broad commitment to interdisciplinary teaching are expected. Applications should be accompanied by evidence of teaching success and a teaching portfolio.
