RESPONSIBILITIES

Become a part of our Digital Farming Business and Data Analytics team for 3 to 6 months, where we oversee and build analytical solutions as well as products to assess and make our customer’s life-time with our xarvio products as valuable and successful as possible. In our group we cover a wide variety of Data Analytics and Data Science tasks ranging from academic conceptual work to bringing models into production. You do not need to be an expert in all fields - we want to give you the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge but also grow with us.

You will implement and operationalize data processing pipelines as well as systems on the AWS technology stack in order to extract agronomic and business insights from our data.
Furthermore, you will control quality, take part in end-to-end testing scenarios and analyze data from agronomic field trials dealing both with spatial as well as machine data.
In addition, you will evaluate technologies for optimal extraction, transformation, loading and servicing of data.
Another part of your work, will involve the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing procedures and implementation of infrastructure-as-code components.

QUALIFICATIONS

enrolled Master’s student in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Engineering or similar
interest and affinity with scientific research as well as data analysis in the agricultural domain and operating knowledge of system and/or data-base administration
programming skills in one of these programming languages: Python, Java, R as well as familiarity in the design of APIs, relational database design, NoSQL databases (e.g. graph databases, document stores, etc.), Big Data technologies and Apache Spark
knowledge in setting up cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS) as code using e.g. Ansible or terraform as well as working and operating knowledge of containerization (e.g. Docker)
fluent English language skills
