EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the European Commission, is the leading consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to securing raw materials supply, closing material loops and designing products solution, supporting a European Union where raw materials are a major strength. EIT RawMaterials unites more than 300 partners – academic and research institutions as well as businesses – from more than 20 EU countries. They collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to improve the raw materials sector all along its value chain – from extraction to processing, from recycling to reuse.
In addition to its strategic task and to develop synergies across education, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship within a future-oriented ecosystem, EIT RawMaterials was mandated by the European Commission to manage the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA). The main objective of the alliance is to address and drive strategic investments in the raw materials sector and across the full value chain. ERMA is a unique alliance of such kind globally. Since its launch in September 2020, it unites already over 500 members.
EIT RawMaterials supports activities that strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in the raw materials sector. The EIT RawMaterials GmbH management team is assisting partners in developing and running projects, and in matchmaking and thematic events that will help our ecosystem to develop new ideas, new networks and new partnerships. As a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) we partner closely with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a unique EU initiative that spurs innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.
The activities of EIT RawMaterials are headquartered in Berlin. Regionally they are executed through our European network with co-location Centres (CLCs) in Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Poland and Sweden.

In EIT RawMaterials we are committed to developing raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Raw materials are essential to transition Europe from a linear brown to a circular green economy and to achieve the objectives of the European Green Deal. Professional communication with all stakeholders of our community (business, politics, universities (RTO’s, NGO’s, media), is key to the accomplishment of our vision and position our services and projects.
We invite an exceptional communicator to join our team to further develop our communications strategy, to streamline our communications activities in a structured and efficient way as well as increase the visibility of our organization to increase awareness of the importance of raw materials for Europe towards our stakeholders’ community.
The position of the Head of Communications (m/f/d), is a fantastic career step for every self-driven, hands-on and interdisciplinary, outspoken structured individual with the ability to interact and lead across functions. The role provides the opportunity to communicate at the highest levels within our network.
As Head of Communications, you will be functionally responsible for all related communications activities across EIT RawMaterials. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to your team and ensure professional support to the CEO, to the management team as well as to the staff. You will own the development and delivery of our corporate communications strategy across all channels to reach out to the various stakeholders. You will ensure the continuity of our communication activities whilst expanding our existing network of politicians, key stakeholders, and academia.
The Head of Communications (m/f/d) is a member of the organizations’ management team, reporting directly to and interacting with the CEO.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate communicator with a comprehensive and quick understanding of complex matters. The successful candidate will offer a solid experience as a leader of communications teams working across all disciplines, including media and public relations, marketing campaigns and digital/social media.

Requirements:
You are passionate about Green Europe and offer the following professional competencies:
- Proven track record of creating and implementing a consistent communications strategy
- Experience of working in a complex-fast paced international business to identify key messages and translate these into a clear, concise plan
- In-depth experience of corporate communication has added value to a business
- Excellent organisation skills, ability to multi-task, and respond quickly to competing priorities, tight deadlines
- Experience in setting and managing the budget.
