Due to the rapid growth of their business, our client, a successful division of a multi-billion US$ global manufacturer of high-quality automation products, has created the exciting new opportunity of Hardware Engineer. The role reports to the Manager, Sustaining Engineering and will cover product customisation, sustainment engineering of existing products and the replacement of existing products that are reaching their end of life

Responsibilities

  • Circuit diagram development and layout creation using the CAE
  • Conception, specification and design of hardware concepts
  • Development/maintenance of embedded firmware on e.g STM 32 and DS PIC controllers
  • Programming of microcontrollers in C or C++
  • Technical customer consulting in the field of servo motor feedback solutions
  • Commissioning, testing, approval and documentation of the development results
  • Support for other departments with hardware and software specific tasks such as quality

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or comparable
  • Experience with hardware related system programming and structured interface design
  • Knowledge of servo motor feedback systems and the associated fieldbuses (e g DQ, CAN, Profinet Ethernet, etc would be useful
  • Knowledge of C/C++
  • Subject specific creativity and the ability to think outside the box
  • Good knowledge of English
