Schwarz IT KG is the central IT service provider and is responsible for the selection, provision, operation, and continuing development of IT infrastructure, IT platforms, and business applications. Schwarz IT provides IT services to Kaufland and Lidl, as well as to Schwarz Dienstleistung KG and Schwarz Zentrale Dienste KG. In order to provide IT solutions that optimally support the departments’ business processes, Schwarz IT addresses the departments’ requirements in consultations and works with them to develop professional and effective IT solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop innovative, analytical data products to improve our business processes
  • Take analytical applications from proof of concept through to production and ensure that the applications are high quality and fit for the future
  • Develop efficient, fast data and machine learning pipelines using Python and Spark
  • Work with your colleagues to industrialize reliable data products in the cloud
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary, agile team with data scientists, software and platform engineers, product owners, and departments
  • Act as a coach and mentor for fellow team members, with an excellent ability to analyze and solve technical problems

What You’ll Need

  • Passion for data engineering, AI, and the creation of varied data products
  • Several years’ experience in the development of data and machine learning pipelines and the industrialization of data products
  • Good knowledge of the software development cycle (e.g., CI/CD, DevOps, testing)
  • Ideally experience in the cloud, containerization, and big data, ideally with MS Azure, Kubernetes, and Spark
  • Analytical skills, an agile mindset, the ability to work independently, and a hands-on mentality
  • Excellent English skills; preferably good German skills
  • Degree in information systems or talented lateral entrant
