As Data Domain Owner in the Digital Transformation Center of Excellence you leverage your knowledge in healthcare data domains and are strategically responsible for the domain definitions and governance, including steering the portfolio of initiatives concerning the domain. With your passion for data, you act as incubator driving the mindset change to data-centric thinking, uniting the overarching Boehringer Ingelheim data strategy, data domain-specific business strategy, and the needs of local, regional, and global stakeholders.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- As a Data Domain Owner, you are strategically responsible for the domain definition and governance by providing oversight of operational governance tasks & data lifecycle governance.
- In this role you ensure long-term usability of data assets, according to FAIR principles as well as interoperability between internal and external data.
- As a data enthusiast, you drive change towards a data-centric way of working.
- Additionally, you support operational processes affecting data in the domain including setting, implementing, and managing indicators for data quality.
- With your expertise, you provide operational leadership of the data domain forum as a decision-maker and by empowerment of the data stewards and stakeholders.
- Furthermore, you develop and maintain change management, communication, and training processes to ensure adequate quality and compliance awareness. You continuously align with other data domain owners and data stewards.
- Finally, you will act as a key and lead contact for data consumers, QA Manager Global Process Compliance, and other relevant functions, e.g. Regulatory Affairs, Data Strategy, Legal, Quality Assurance, and Domain Teams.
- Typically, a Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD) or Master’s degree with a few years of experience (e.g. MBA, MSc) in Data Science, Information Sciences, Bioinformatics or a related field with several years of experience in data management and analysis or equivalent including leading projects and/or leading people in an international environment demonstrating strategic thinking and mindset, and experiences working cross-functionally
- Data Domain-specific expertise and understanding of the specific nature of data in the domain. In case of a disease domain, knowledge is not required on a single disease, but how diseases can be generally understood, described, and distinguished.
- Extensive Data Governance experience / knowledge and the ability to gain rapidly a solid understanding of related processes and businesses
- Excellent communication and change management skills with knowledge of and experience in Business Transformation
- Demonstrated competencies in Agility, Accountability and Intrapreneurship including fast decision-making, flexibility, ownership, outcome-based thinking, purpose orientation as well as smart risk-taking
- Open-minded integrator with the ability to think outside the box and a strong curiosity to understand and learn new things
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
