Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organisation

Responsible for strengthening and achieving optimal product value and maximize profitability for specific Business Units’ product that is in sync with the global costing strategy

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively support a strong and cohesive Global Costing team
  • Work collaboratively with liaison offices to communicate model-level pricing tactics and effectively address critical issues to achieve price targets
  • Collaborate with category partners in Marketing, Design and Project Management to ensure margin maximization at the model level, within the parameters of the company’s strategic objectives
  • Implement and support functional costing direction within the organization
  • Support development or enhancement of systems to ensure costing requirements are met and to improve costing performance
  • Support Marketing and Project Management with a proactive approach to costing, in parallel with the product creation process
  • Ensure adherence to standardized costing processes and procedures by partner departments and liaison offices
  • With support, coordinate and conduct category costing reviews at critical milestones in the product creation process; ensure alignment between Marketing, Design, Project Management and Sourcing relative to cost target achievement
  • Coordinate seasonal costing recaps as required, to communicate status and ensure focus on critical pricing issues
  • Ensure all costing timelines are met in full: PPR / PFR / GMM & RMM / Final Price List, meet activation / buy ready deadlines
  • Demonstrate a technical and comprehensive understanding of product cost drivers for effective input into the product creation process
  • Support category growth and profitability by gaining knowledge of specific business needs and collaborating on cost-based solutions to meet those needs
  • Support a fact-based costing process in all development and sourcing regions through effective data research and analysis of cost standards

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of apparel engineering and product development/costing or production
  • Exposure to the latest trends in apparel materials, components, processes, and concepts
  • Highly analytical with strong financial/accounting sense
  • Computer literacy
  • Fluency in English
Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • (Under-)graduate university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Banking
  • First relevant work experience
