2023 sees The Hoxton take on Europe! We’re popping up in some of our favourite cities and we’ll be opening our first hotel in Germany in the city of culture and creativity, Berlin. We are now looking for an experienced Cost Controllerto join our team and play a crucial part in successfully bringing our brand to a new market.
Our first Hoxton in Germany will be home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant and bar, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be you will be responsible to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of Accounting.

What you’ll do…

  • Manage and record goods deliveries
  • Recording of F&B costs into the General Ledger System.
  • Adhering to all cost control procedures (where applicable create new procedures).
  • Updating costings.
  • Ensuring compliance with documentation/authorisation processes.
  • Processing F&B accruals.
  • Monitoring inventories of F&B to increase inventory turnover.
  • Participating in month end reporting procedures in relation to F&B stock and other tasks.
  • Carrying out weekly stock takes and evaluating potentials.
  • Helping with, and maintaining purchasing agreements.
  • Maintain purchase system and ensure all items are up to date.

What we’re looking for…

  • 2 years hotel cost controller experience, experience of hotel opening would be a plus.
  • Technical skills with a strong understanding of compliance, best practice hotel operations for the role and standard systems.
  • A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
